Sorrow is a Solid Feeling

© 2016 Pierce Turner from the album Love Can’t Always Be Articulate
Sorrow is a solid feeling your back goes back and pinned you could be to the ground
But there you feel alive with life, a mourner dark and proud
Carrying wounds upon your shoulders and the pity of the town
But pity not too much you safe way travellers imagining our hell
Because a heart that beats though be it broke is better than a painless heart of stone
Wired to the sun
Wired to the moon
High on hope
And blind to rationale
All I want now is to show my heart
To everyone
High on hope and blind to practical

Everything she said was dangerous, but evidence is not what I pursued
She pulled me in because she was
Curious and confused
I know this folly by gosh by golly
A belt of pain is a fierce distasteful exercise
Still the tough go down
To wallow in sorrow while we can’t stop flirting with tomorrow’s actions fool we must be for never figuring this one out,
We keep walking into trouble and strife
I can understand what we see in pain and understand what we see in sorrow
Why don’t we plan out our tomorrow?
Well pity not too much you safe way travellers imagining our hell
Cos a heart that beats though be it broke is better than a painless heart of stone
Wired to the sun
Wired to the moon
High on hope
And blind to rationale
All I want now is to show my heart
To everyone
High on hope and blind to practical
